Lynda.com training now available to all Spiderz staff

Everyone at Spiderz has been given access to Lynda.com’s annual membership.

With over 544 online courses on a huge variety of software and design topics, Lynda.com offers the best training resources at very reasonable prices.

This also accompanies a modest training schedule for each individual and will help us add more value to our service.

Spiderz’s chronological portfolio

We’ve been working on getting our portfolio in shape for the past few days and it’s almost come to life. The key feature of the portfolio is that it gives you a quick look at the sheer number of projects we’ve worked on in the past seven years.

Here are a few things that I’d like to point out with regards to how this portfolio was assembled:

1. I searched all our past work and included everything I had on record; so all our web projects are published.
2. In displaying project thumbnails, I used the design snapshot that was the best from all mock-ups that were designed. What you see is a design that looked the best to us even if our clients chose another one!
3. I’ve added approximate launch dates of each website  (for now). Sana is working her way to get the right launch dates out of our accounting software. At the moment, the closest launch dates are published.
4. All thumbnails are available in larger sizes but I chose not to publish them. A ‘Case Studies’ section is in development and will reveal detailed knowledge about key projects.
5. Links to customer sites are not provided because we can’t reliably link to them and ensure availability of the site at all times. So instead of taking the risk and linking directly to our customers’ sites, I chose not to hot link. A site URL, like the one on our testimonials could be added later.
