What is the default MX record for a cPanel hosted domain?

• By
Spiderz

The default MX record for a cPanel hosted domain has a priority of ‘0’ (zero) and points directly to the domain.

As an example: 0 yourdomain.com.

Replace youdomain.com in the example above, with your own domain.

If you’re transitioning back to the cPanel email service from another provider, select ‘Local Mail Exchanger’ in the ‘Email Routing’ section of cPanel.

Good to Know: While the default setting work for email hosted on cPanel, specific email services like Gmail or Microsoft 365 will require customized MX records
